December Newsletter

A Bit About Life:

For those of you in the USA, I hope that each one of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I also hope that your preparations for the coming Christmas holiday is filled with happiness. I try to remember the reason for the season and not stress too much. I hope you do the same.

Thanksgiving was a fun occasion for our family. We spent the day at my daughter's home in Boise. We had 7 of our 9 grandchildren there. Our son from Portland came and our daughter and husband came with her 3 children. It was a day of feasting and playing games. The grandkids had so much fun playing with their cousins. We hit the Black Friday sales on Friday and got some of our Christmas shopping done. My daughters were up at 3:00 am. My husband and I didn't get going until around 6:00 am. (Early enough for me!)

I have to show you the potholder that I made as a gift exchange for our quilt guild. I decided I wanted to do something with the old crocks. Well, anyway, this is my interpretation. I hope whoever gets it will like it. I added yo-yo's with button centers as flowers.

Mystery Quilt Pattern:
If you haven't done the Mystery Quilt Patterns, you might want to see what others have done. I want to share with you some pictures of the Mystery Thanksgiving Table Runner. Below is a picture of a quilt guild who asked permission to use my pattern. I think they turned out WONDERFUL!! After the holidays I will be adding more Mystery Quilt Patterns. I am sure you understand about this busy time of year! CLICK HERE to go to the Mystery Quilt Patterns.

Quilting Tips:

I have had many requests about the Disappearing 9 Patch pattern. This is such a simple pattern but looks so difficult when put together. Below I have worked up a diagram to help you know how to make your own. As you can see, it is "sew" simple! Try one!! This is a FUN one to make.

You have come to the end of another newsletter. I hope you find time to enjoy this wonderful time of year with family and friends! I wish each and everyone a wonderful time preparing for the holdiay season.

Keeping you in stitches!

Susan
